Fly Scene's history

After working several years as a sales representative for Swan Products Denmark, I had the possibility to buy their fly tying department. It’s too big a  job for one person so I needed to look for a partner, which I soon found in Gerrit Van Criekinge.

On the 23th of may 2000 we founded our company VDS Fly Fishing Tackle BVBA. We immediately started to think about a new brand for our products because Swan products was still active in the fly fishing market and we wanted to have a brand new name. In September we found a good name which was Fly Scene. In the first year we worked on the existing program to create a total program of fly tying materials of a high quality. This is not easy and you don’t find the things you’re looking for in a day.

Now ten years later,  I am proud to offer you our existing program as one of the best on the market and one of the most complete. We worked very hard on the packaging of our products, the look is one of the most important things in business. The next step we did was adding a barcode on our products. We are the only wholesaler - manufacturer that offers his dealers the chance to have their retail price printed on the product label.
